Our Water Project

734 Water is committed to bringing people together to solve the problem of distribution  of clean water in South Sudan. 734 Water South Sudan is a brand extension of 734 Coffee which was founded in 2016 for the purpose of offering excellent coffee, clean drinking water, and eliminating plastics. Our mission is to deliver the best water and coffee services by promoting awareness through job creation.

Globally, 1 in 9 people still have no access to clean water. But in the communities we serve, it's 9 out of 9. Clean Water is a daily and crippling challenge. Without clean water you can't you can't stay healthy, you can't stay in school and you can't keep working.

The situation of access to clean water and sanitation in rural Africa is even more dismal than the previous statistics imply. The WHO (2006) stated that, in 2004, only 16% of people in sub-Saharan Africa had access to drinking water through a household connection (an indoor tap or a tap in the yard). Not only is there poor access to readily accessible drinking water, even when water is available in these small towns, there are risks of contamination due to several factors. When wells are built and water sanitation facilities are developed, they are improperly maintained to due to limited financial resources. Water quality testing is not performed as often as is necessary, and lack of education among the people utilizing the water source leads them to believe that as long as they are getting water from a well, it is safe. Once a source of water has been provided, quantity of water is often given more attention than quality of water (Awuah, Nyarko, Owusu, & Osei-Bonsu, 2009).

Clean water is a vital process of the making a great cup of Joe. We knew we had to do something about it.

Our Partnership

We have partnered up with Global Water First to bring clean water to South Sudan. With our success with 734 Coffee, we realized  the  we can replicate this  the social enterprise strategy to make clean water more available in South Sudan.

With this partnership,  We will build and operate bottling and distribution centers to provide clean drinking water to the people in the region at below market prices. Often, we find villages that are water-stressed are also without reliable electrical power. Our water and power hubs provide for true empowerment.

We are currently in Phase 1 which is building water stations in key cities like  in Juba.
